When planning your bequest, we recommend consulting a qualified solicitor to ensure your wishes are clearly communicated. There are several ways to leave a gift in your will:

Percentage/Portion: Even a small percentage can make a big difference.
Residual: Give from the remainder of your estate after taking care of your loved ones.
Whole Estate: For those who wish to make a profound impact.

By specifying your gift for “general purposes,” you provide flexibility to address our most pressing needs. Alternatively, you can designate a percentage to both Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Zealand and a local branch.

You can make changes or additions to your will at any time. Your solicitor will guide you through the process to ensure your wishes are accurately reflected.

Guidance for Executors and Solicitors

If you are assisting someone in leaving a bequest, please use the following wording:
"I give to Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Zealand (Registered Charity Number: CC32216) [amount/percentage] for its general purposes, or to support [specific branch]."
The official receipt of Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Zealand will be sufficient for your trustees.
